Dirty Sexy Jewelry

Television returned to its soapy '80s roots Wednesday with the premiere of ABC's Dirty Sexy Money. The show follows the Darlings, an überwealthy New York family whose five siblings, in just the first episode, found themselves wrapped up in murder, infidelity, a suicide attempt, illegitimate children, an arrest, and a politician's affair with a transvestite. The cast and dialogue is a little shaky, but the scandals live up to the show's name.

Jewels played a minor role this week (aside from oodles of diamonds worn by characters), but watch for that to change. In a new twist on sponsorship, Bulgari has a stake in the show—having hosted the glitzy Hollywood premiere and placed jewelry and accessories on the cast. Better yet, according to reports, the jeweler's Beverly Hills store will serve as the backdrop for several scenes in upcoming episodes.

With Sex and the City but a memory and Desperate Housewives fashions a bit sleepy, the Darling ladies of Dirty Sexy Money are poised to bring back glam not seen since the Carringtons and Ewings. With Bulgari sponsoring and promoting the show and its filthy-rich theme, fashions and jewels will be similarly decadent. Dripping diamonds and dirty plotlines? Now that's sexy.

Weekly Gem
Integrity, talent, charm … all traits of a good spokesperson, right? Well, if those don't serve as a ticket to stardom, try freakish behavior. Take Onch Movement's newest face: Chris Crocker (the "Leave Britney Alone" guy from YouTube.com). The rabid Britney Spears fan admires Onch Movement's edgy resin creations featuring razor blades and mirrors and lollipops, and the jewelry designer adores Crocker's emotionally charged and frenetic video tirades against Britney haters.
