Las Vegas Sideshows

You're reading it in nearly every other e-mail you receive this week, so we'll just go with the pack… Ready for Vegas??!!

A week from today, the JCK ~ Las Vegas show opens. In just a few days, a myriad of related shows kick off. Meaning, if you're lucky like us, you'll be in Sin City for eight or nine days. While the schedule is packed with events and appointments, we all need a little sanity-saving downtime. And since, collectively, the JCK team has spent somewhere around 1,500 weeks at Las Vegas trade shows, who better to offer advice on where to go and what to see? Everyone knows about the shows, spas, restaurants, and bars, so we polled our colleagues this week for their favorite non-show places and activities. Here are some of the best ideas:
  • "The small art museum [at the Bellagio]. It is quiet, and looking at the paintings…feels like a slice of heaven after the show."
  • "Going for a swim just when the pool opens and no one is there is an energizing start to the day."
  • "Hiking in Red Rocks is amazing."
  • "The Wildlife Habitat at the Flamingo. They have flamingos, of course, plus ducks, swans and other birds, and streams with koi. There's also a waterfall and bridges across the streams. It's actually quite peaceful."
  • "The roller coaster at New York, New York, where you can scream out all your tension in a minute and a half."
Whatever your plan, JCKstyle wishes you a safe trip and great show. And, we'll end (like every other e-mail this week) with, See you in Vegas!

Weekly Gem
While most parties and events during the shows require an invitation and a name on the guest list, all you need to get into the JCK ~ Las Vegas show's welcome reception on Friday night is your show badge. The party is in the Palazzo Ballroom at the Venetian from 7 to 10 p.m.

Correction: Last week's JCKstyle reported that Fabrikant-Tara is a wholesaler and retailer. The company sells wholesale only, not retail.
