15 Minutes of Jewelry

Who says jewelers aren’t adaptable? With no end in sight to the popularity of reality television, industry members are riding the trend (and capitalizing on the shows’ high ratings) and landing their prime pieces on as many shows as possible. Here, the latest news bites from jewelereality:

Show: Dancing with the Stars
Jeweler: 1700 Ocean:
Collaboration: Host Samantha Harris and judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli wore 1700 Ocean on the show’s second season.
and …
Jeweler: Rhonda Faber Green
Collaboration: Rhonda Faber Green jewelry adorned judge Carrie Ann Inaba last season. Inaba again wore the designer—specifically, pieces from the Ovallure and Essense collection—on the 2007 premier show, March 19.

Show: American Idol
Jeweler: Kwiat
Collaboration: Even jaded Simon Cowell noted contestant LaKisha Jones’s beautiful bling on the March 20 show. The value—as noted by all three judges—$1 million. Hope she had good security after her accessories’ worth was revealed to a live audience and millions of viewers.

Show: The Bachelor: Rome
Collaboration: Erica Rose
Match: Rose started her line of tiaras, T-Erica, after wearing the piece on the show. Look for the budding designer in the next print issue of JCKstyle.
As long as we must watch reality shows (and by “must” we mean “look forward to gleefully, if with some embarrassment), the editors at JCKstyle are delighted to see them sparkling as never before.

Weekly Gem
From Hollywood to high fashion, seems everyone is thinking green these days. In the jewelry industry, enter what is being dubbed the first “green” jewelry cleaner, Purosol, from Origin Laboratories. The cleaner, safe for soft stones, is made from plant enzymes, and manufacturers claim a long list of eco-friendly attributes. For information, visit www.purosol.com
