Add jewelers to those dissatisfied with President George Bush’s job performance. A new JCK national survey of hundreds of jewelers finds 53 percent disapprove of the job he is doing on domestic and foreign issues, and 42 percent aren’t happy with how he’s supported legislation affecting small business. 7. WFDB SUPPORTS G8 STRATEGY FOR PARTNERSHIPS
Ernest Blom, the president of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses, has applauded the strategy announced by the G8 Summit's Global Forum for Partnerships between States and Businesses to Counter Terrorism, following its three-day meeting in Moscow. 8. MOSCOW DIAMOND BOURSE CELEBRATES WFDB MEMBERSHIP
The Moscow Diamond Bourse hosted leaders of the international diamond and jewelry industries at a special event in Moscow on Dec 13 to celebrate the bourse’s acceptance in June as a member of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses. A central theme of the gathering is Russia stands at the cusp of developing into a significant jewelry market, and the new bourse will be a valuable addition to the infrastructure serving the local industry and trade.
