What We’re Shooting Today: Pearl Jewelry for the September Issue

While many in industry are currently taking some well-deserved time off, JCK is already looking ahead to fall. We’re photographing pearls this week for the September issue, which is typically one of my favorite issues to shoot. As most probably know by now, I love pearls.

And with the variety of modern pearl—especially white—looks that have been trending at the shows, there continue to be lots of reasons for others to fall for them as well. This spring we profiled London-based Melanie Georgacopoulos, whose merchandise we have been fortunate enough to photograph for the issue, as well as stateside makers like Imperial and rising Canadian star Holly Dyment (at MUSE). Below is a sampling of some of the pieces that are on set today for still life, and tomorrow we’ll shoot model photography. Can you guess at least one of the trends we’ll cover? Check back tomorrow for a sampling of jewelry options for our model photography.
