Tiffany & Co., New York, will operate a store under the Tiffany & Co. trade name in Beijing, China in December, the company said in a statement.

The new store will be located in the lobby of the Palace Hotel located at 8 Goldfish Lane, Wangfujing in the heart of Beijing’s premier shopping district.

The 1,220-square-foot store will contain architectural elements similar to Tiffany’s famous New York flagship store, including granite facade, cherry wood interiors and stainless steel detailing on the showcases. A number of the company’s most popular collections will be offered, including engagement and fine jewelry, baby goods, gifts, and accessories.

“With the growing demand among affluent customers in Beijing seeking the highest quality jewelry and luxury goods, we are excited about the long term opportunity a Tiffany & Co. location in Beijing provides us, ” said James E. Quinn, vice chairman of Tiffany & Co.
