The Swarovski Christmas Tree That Stole the Show in Switzerland

Now that’s what I call sparkle

I recently returned from a trip to Switzerland, where the holiday spirit is alive and well. In Zurich, you couldn’t avoid the season if you tried: A bustling Christmas market—Christkindlimarkt—greets you upon arrival at the main train station, Hauptbanhof, and on many corners of the city thereafter. At the center of the train station’s festive exhibit: a 50-foot-tall Christmas tree, sparkling—and I mean sparkling—with over 7,000 Swarovski crystal ornaments. Between the sweet smell of mulled wine, waffles, and bubbling fondue (truly the best smell there is, I must say), I was in holiday heaven. But the tree, now that pushed me over. Swarovski is no stranger to shining bright during the holiday season, but this was a sight unlike any other, and I couldn’t think of a better way for a brand to demonstrate what it does best than this. I took a short video that (almost) demonstrates its magnificence, below. I won’t be winning an Academy Award for best directing with this effort, but nevertheless, I hope you enjoy it.
