The Knot and Macy’s Wrap Registry Deal

The Knot Inc. said Thursday that is has signed a two-year deal with Macy’s to make Macy’s Wedding & Gift Registry the exclusive retail partner providing products on TheKnot.com registry.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Through this partnership, The Knot and Macy’s have launched The Lifestyle Registry, a registry tool located on TheKnot.com, designed to help couples jump-start the process of crafting their wedding registries.

The tool includes a short, interactive quiz that allows couples to define their personal style within six different characteristics.

The Knot team of style experts handpicked products from Macy’s for the groupings in the registry.

The Knot also announced that Peter Sachse, chairman and chief executive officer of Macy’s.com has stepped down from the Board of Directors of The Knot. In October 2006, Sachse was elected to The Knot Board as a representative of Federated Department Stores. Sachse will continue to be Federated’s representative to attend meetings of The Knot’s Board as an observer.

New York City-based The Knot Inc. provides media services, including online, interactive wedding planning and shopping tools.

Cincinnati-based Federated Department Stores Inc. operates more than 850 department stores in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Guam and Puerto Rico under the names Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s.
