Govind Dholakia Wins Retail Jeweller India’s 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award

SRK founder and chairman Govind Dholakia came away with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2014 Retail Jeweller India Awards, an honor for his contributions to the diamond industry and a career that spans five decades. 

Dholakia started his career in 1964 at at 13, working as a diamond cutter, and founded diamond company Shree Ramkrishna Exports just seven years later. His work has set a benchmark for peers and young entrepreneurs in the industry, as he built a world-class conglomerate at such a young age. “I have always seen my father as an extraodinary range of talent and experience with a united commitment to drive the company to unprecedented levels of accomplishment,” said Shreyans Dholakia, director of SRK and Dholakia’s son, in a press release. “We could not be in better hands—he is a visionary.”
