Seven new designers have been selected to display their collections at the New Designer Gallery this summer at the 2003 JA New York show and compete for the “Mort Abelson – New Designer of the Year” award held during the show.

The New Designer Gallery is located on level four of the Galleria as part of the International Jewelry Design Guild’s Design Collections 2003 pavilion. The event and the JA Show will be held July 27 – 30, at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City.

The designers are: Sarah Graham Metalsmithing, Portland, Ore.; Catherine Hylands, San Francisco; Stephen Kris Designs, New York; K. Mita Designs, Forest Hills, N.Y.; Danae Jewelry & Materials, Tokyo; Peace and Love Jewelry by Nancy Davis, Los Angeles; and Commi Jewelers, Secaucus, N.J.

Along with a panel of prominent judges, Mort Abelson, founder of the New Designer Gallery, will evaluate the works of the new artists. The winner will be announced at 3:00 P.M., Monday, July 28, in front of the New Designer Gallery.
