Second Jewelry Industry Summit Set for Tucson

The summit is an interactive, working meeting that investigates supply chain issues

The Jewelry Industry Summit will hold its second meeting Jan. 29–30, 2017, at the Tucson Convention Center in Tucson, Ariz.

The American Gem Trade Association is the official host of the second event.

The summit is an interactive, working meeting built around audience participation. It aims to generate broad-based awareness of facts related to the jewelry industry supply chain and responsible sourcing and explore what works and what does not.

The first event was held in March in New York City. It ended with a commitment to tackle specific supply chain issues, such as helping gem cutters in developing countries who need education and equipment to avoid silicosis, a disease that occurs from inhaling stone dust.

More information can be seen on the organization’s website.
