Rosen Media Shelves studioArts Magazine

Rosen Media, a division of The Rosen Group, said Friday that it has shelved the publication of studioArts magazine, citing the changes that online publishing has brought to the print world.

Publisher Wendy Rosen said  that Rosen Media will instead focus on a company-wide initiative to enhance the online presence of all of its publications.

StudioArts is the successor to Crafts Business magazine, which Baltimore-based Rosen Media purchased in 2006. Under its new title, the publication aims to provide business guidance and information to artists in every medium and at all levels of their careers.

“I’m sure that this news will be met with a certain level of disappointment, but Rosen Media remains committed to helping artists succeed in the marketplace,” said studioArts magazine editor Sara Jerome. “We will continue to strive to find new ways to offer artists tools for success, and we feel that enhancing our Web sites is a great way to do this.”

Other Rosen Media publications include the consumer art publication AmericanStyle magazine, and the trade publication for craft retailers NICHE magazine.
