New Web Site Offers Designer Jewelry with Social Media Twist

Another electronic retailer is poised to compete with brick-and-mortar jewelry stores, and this one launches in a few days. Velvetradical.com opens for business at 10:10 am PST on October 10, and will initially feature 16 different fine and fashion jewelry lines, including Baroni and Meghan Patrice Riley, with retail prices ranging from $44 for a pair of Swarovski crystal earrings to $8,400 for diamond and gold earrings. Shipping is free on all U.S. orders.

According to a press release from the company, the Web site will introduce new designs on a weekly basis, and members will be notified of new merchandise through Facebook and Twitter. To celebrate the launch, the site is giving away 10 pieces of jewelry valued at $1,000. Velvetradical.com members who post comments on the selected product’s pages will be eligible to win; winners will be announced on October 21 and will have 24 hours to claim prizes. Additionally, one Radical Sale per week will feature limited quantities of items from featured designers at special prices for 24 hours only. When any item sells out within that time, one purchasing member will receive that piece for free. More opportunities to earn gratis merchandise exist by way of participation in the site’s Wishlist functionality. For more information, log onto velvetradical.com’s web site.
