Neiman Marcus quarterly revenue and same-store sales are up

Neiman Marcus Group reported that revenue for the first quarter of fiscal year 2006 increased 7.5 percent to $976 million, compared with $908 million for the same period in the previous year.

Same-store sales for the same period, which ended Oct. 30, increased 8.4 percent. Same-store sales for its Specialty Retail Stores (which consists primarily of Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman stores) rose 8.8 percent for the period. Comparable revenues for the first quarter compared to last year increased 8 percent and 13.7 percent at Neiman Marcus Stores and Bergdorf Goodman, respectively.

Neiman Marcus Direct first quarter fiscal year 2006 revenues were 10.4 percent above last year.

Dallas-based Neiman Marcus Group plans to report first quarter earnings on Dec. 8. It was the first earnings report given by the company since it recently went private in October.
