The couple will be honored at the gala for their “enduring contributions to the world of style internationally” through their impact on the world of jewelry with a dedication to craftsmanship and design, according to a statement advancing the event.

The Yurmans, who are being honored jointly, and three others will be celebrated as leaders and creators in the art, craft, and design industries at the annual New York City event. Filling out this short roster are Wilfried Vancraen, CEO of Materialise; legendary painter and print-maker Frank Stella; and Rick Kinsel, executive director of philanthropic company the Vilcek Foundation.

Celebrating the fifth anniversary of the Museum of Arts and Design, The annual Visionaries! Gala is the institution’s most important event, raising money for its educational programs and exhibitions.

Lewis Kruger, chairman of the museum’s board, said in the statement that “MAD is thrilled to be honoring such a range of visionaries in this anniversary year, which demonstrates the scope and depth of MAD’s exploration of contemporary creativity.”

The contributions of past recipients of this young award run the gamut, spanning fields that range from architecture to fashion and design to art and art patronage.

The 2013 event will be held at the Mandarin Oriental, beginning with a cocktail reception and silent auction featuring works by various artists in recent exhibitions at the museum. The dinner and awards ceremony will follow.
