Bank Leumi USA named Salomone (Shlomo) Mosseri, senior vice president, as head of its diamond and jewelry leading team. Mosseri will be stationed in New York in the heart of the diamond district.

With more than twenty years’ experience in commercial middle market lending in the diamond industry in Israel, Mosseri will focus on business development and marketing the bank’s services to the global diamond industry.

“We are pleased to have someone of Shlomo’s stature. He brings extremely relevant marketing and business development expertise to our team,” said Uzi Rosen, chief executive officer of Bank Leumi USA.

From 1987 to 2002, Mosseri held increasingly responsible positions at Union Bank of Israel where he was ultimately responsible for a credit portfolio of $1 billion, 50% of which was attributable to the diamond industry. Most recently, he was a consultant to various firms in the Israeli diamond industry. Mosseri, who speaks Hebrew, English, French, and Italian, has a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Tel Aviv University.
