Minnesota Jeweler Departs From Downtown

After 87 years in downtown Minneapolis, Bergstrom
Jewelers moved west of the city to St. Louis Park, Minn., on Nov. 1.

“We examined the patterns of our shoppers and
discovered downtown is not part of their shopping habits anymore,”
co-owner Bob Zagaros tells JCK. The new store is located on St. Louis Park’s
West End Blvd., which is known for its upscale designer boutiques. Zagaros
cites the area’s ambience as another reason for the relocation.

Customers can expect to see familiar designer brands as well
as the introduction of new lines. “We created showcases along the windows
with our new designers that include Somers, Ed Levin, and Lori Bonn,”
Zagaros says.

In addition to a prominent bridal section, the new location
features a bead bar and the use of Gemvision software in the service
department. Bergstrom also boasts colored stone, fine fashion and gold, and watch departments.

Zagaros says the openness, high ceilings, and LED lights
create a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere: “We have a
new lounge area for the customers to sit with a 60-inch plasma screen. Recently, we had the NFL game on so men could watch the game and women could shop.”
