Mikimoto and Yohji Yamamoto to Create a Joint Pearl Collection

Mikimoto and Yohji Yamamoto are aligning their talents to create a series of fine jewelry collections. Yohji Yamamoto, will apply his creative vision to Mikimoto.

Yohji Yamamoto and Mikimoto, though synonymous with masterpieces of Japanese culture, both enjoy worldwide renown.

This jewelry collection is an artistic expression of nature’s dramatic volatility on a stormy day, the two companies said in a joint statement.

The collection, composed of three groups totaling approximately 20 pieces, will be debuted in July 2007 during Couture Week in Paris. Starting in November 2007, the distribution will be limited to the Yohji Yamamoto and Mikimoto stores worldwide, as well as selected points of sales in the United States. In 2008, the distribution will be expanded in Europe and Asia.
