Mayor’s Jewelers, Inc., Sunrise, Fla., made in senior management changes in connection with the previously announced investment in the company by Henry Birks & Sons Inc. of Canada.

Thomas A. Andruskevich, president and CEO of Birks and chairman of Mayor’s board of directors, was named president and CEO of Mayor’s.

Andruskevich has 20 years experience in the luxury goods industry with extensive experience in the high-end jewelry sector and with turnarounds. He was appointed president and CEO of Birks in 1996. Prior to joining Birks, he served as president and CEO of Mondi of America. Previously, Andruskevich spent 12 years with Tiffany & Co, where he held various senior executive positions.

Joseph A. Keifer III, vice president—merchandising of Henry Birks & Sons Inc. was named senior vice president and chief operating officer of Mayor’s.

Keifer has 30 years of experience in the retail jewelry industry. He has been in his current position with Henry Birks since 1998. Prior to joining Henry Birks, Keifer spent four years with Wards as senior vice president—jewelry merchandise. Previously, he spent 23 years with the Zale Corp. where he held numerous executive positions.

Marc Weinstein, formerly senior vice president and chief operating officer of Mayor’s, will now serve as the company’s senior vice president and chief administrative officer. Prior to joining Mayor’s, Weinstein had been with Burger King Corporation for 19 years where he held a number of executive positions in the areas of human resources, operations, finance and international operations.

“We believe these changes to the management structure of Mayor’s will bring the necessary leadership and experience to an already capable management team, that will enable us to revitalize the Mayor’s image, strengthen the Mayor’s brand and capitalize on the many synergies between Mayor’s and Birks,” Andruskevich said in a statement.

In addition to the appointment of the new senior executive officers, Emily Berlin was elected to the board of directors of Mayor’s. Berlin is executive vice president and director of Helm Holdings International, a diversified privately owned group of approximately 70 companies operating principally in Latin America and the Caribbean. Prior to joining Helm Holdings International, Berlin was a partner and a practice leader in the law firm of Shearman & Sterling, specializing in corporate financings.

Mayor’s is a leading luxury retail jeweler primarily in Florida and Georgia. The company was founded in 1910 and currently operates 29 stores.

Henry Birks & Sons is a premier Canadian retailer of fine jewelry, clocks and watches, and gift items. The company has 38 stores across Canada.
