Layna and Alan Friedman Design Engagement Ring for ‘Jersey Shore’ Star JWoww

Displaying her new engagement ring on her tanned and manicured finger, Jersey Shore star Jenni “JWoww” Farley is joining her partner in crime, Snooki, on the path to the altar.

Farley’s long-time beau, Roger Mathews, recently proposed to his Seaside Heights sweetheart during a skydiving trip, presenting her with a rock fit for a reality television queen.

Beverly Hills jewelers Layna and Alan Friedman worked with Mathews to design the hefty sparkler. “We spent several months designing the ring,” Layna Friedman says. “I met with Roger in New Jersey and we chose a cushion-cut diamond center weighing more than 5 carats.”

The center stone has plenty of company. It’s surrounded by 2.5 cts. worth of brilliant-cut white diamonds, as well clusters of pink diamonds—Friedman’s signature stone and Farley’s favorite color. “It’s big, bold, and very feminine,” Friedman says. To add to the “Woww” factor, Friedman added even more white diamonds halfway down the ring’s shank.

The ring’s 18k white gold mounting was handmade—a process that would normally take several weeks. However, the design team worked around the clock, finishing the ring in four days, just in time for Mathews to jump out of a plane and get down on his knee.

“Roger completely caught Jenni off guard. It was a total surprise,” Friedman says. “We’ve made incredible engagement rings over the years, but this one was one of the most special.”

Don’t let Mathews’ macho exterior fool you. According to Friedman, he has an eye for style. “Roger was great to work with,” Friedman says. “I was touched by how perfect he wanted everything to be and how much he wanted to be involved with the design process. He took the time to learn about the stones and cut.”

When asked about possible wedding band designs, Friedman says, “I’m anxiously awaiting. It would be really fun to design them, but right now Roger and Jenni are basking in the joy of the engagement.”

The fist pumping fiancée took to social media to express her gratitude, thanking her fans on Twitter and through her blog. “Roger and I are happy to confirm that the In Touch Weekly news is true: we are officially engaged!!! Thank you for all of the love and well wishes! If we can find love at the Shore, you can too!” Farley said on her website.
