McFarland will lead operations at 1,000 J.C. Penney locations

J.C. Penney has named Joe McFarland executive vice president of stores.

In the role, McFarland will lead operations for the retailer’s 1,000 stores.

McFarland is a 20-year veteran of Home Depot. He was most recently the president of the retailer’s Northern and Western divisions.

“Joe is an outstanding, solutions-driven leader with a proven track record of implementing in-store omnichannel initiatives, driving operational excellence and superior customer service within a highly competitive retail landscape,” said J.C. Penney CEO Marvin Ellison. “We are confident his commitment to excellence will further our efforts to streamline tasks, increase productivity, and improve processes throughout all J.C. Penney stores.”
