JIC’s Fine Jewelry Preview Unveils Industry’s Top Trends for 2011

Jewelry Information Center, the consumer education arm of Jewelers of America, held its annual Fine Jewelry Preview and Luncheon this week in New York City, where it showed an array of new jewelry trend pieces to fashion and accessories editors and stylists from magazines like Harper’s Bazaar and W.

The event featured nearly 100 pieces from U.S. designers, including K. Brunini, Sevan, Jewelmer, Coomi, and Leon Megé. Trends included blackened sterling silver jewelry, golden Philippine South Sea pearls, 22k and 24k yellow gold, and saturated colored gemstones.

In July, JIC will launch a Jewelry Trends section on its website at www.JIC.org. It will show examples of a new jewelry trend and highlight the factors that influenced it, such as architecture and fashion.
