JIC names Trade Press Editor of the Year

Jewelry Information Center named Paul Holewa, managing editor of Instore magazine, as the Trade Press Editor of the Year. The award was presented at JIC’s third annual luncheon at Le Madeleine, Manhattan, on Aug. 1. Nearly two dozen publishers and editors joined newly elected JIC board chair Myriam Gumuchian and JIC staff for the event. Dan Kisch, the magazine’s publisher, accepted the award in Holewa’s absence.

“Paul has been a consistent supporter of JIC – both in Instore‘s editorial coverage and in providing assistance to our staff,” Gumuchian said. “Paul and his staff cover the range of issues facing jewelry retailers with a mix of humor and expertise that reflects his years of experience in our industry and his dedication to those who earn their living in it.”

JIC inaugurated the award in 2004 to acknowledge the support that the association receives from the industry press. Previous recipients are Hedda Schupak, editor-in-chief of JCK and Peggy Jo Donohue, former editor-in-chief of Professional Jeweler.

JIC is the public relations arm of the fine jewelry and watch industries.
