Jewelry to Honor the Philadelphia Phillies, World Series Champions

My hometown baseball team, The Philadelphia Phillies, won the World Series last night. It’s been 28 years since this team last won the World Series (though it did win the National League Championship in 1993), so this win is cause for celebration! Fans went absolutely nuts, spilling out onto the city streets, and a big celebration will occur downtown today; a parade starts at City Hall at 20th and Market Streets and continues down Broad Street to the Wachovia Complex.

In 1983, the Philadelphia 76ers brought home a National Basketball Association Championship win, and Philadelphia sports fans have been chomping at the bit ever since for another big win. Fans got their wish last night in Philadelphia in the top of the 9th inning when the Phils beat the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3.

Crowds of Phillies fans spilled out onto Passyunk Ave last night to celebrate the Phillies’ World Series win. The scene was nuts!

The excitement was evident in the the local sports bars, too, like Chickie & Pete’s.

Fans of the Phils and of fine jewelry who want to support their team can do so by wearing red jewels, monogram “P” pendants, and stars. Suggestions are below. Go Phils!
