Jewelry designers show their wares at two celebrity events

Celebrities will have the opportunity to receive jewelry based on their therapeutic or style preference during an upcoming magazine awards program and at one of the top independent film competitions.

Gemisphere, Portland, Ore., a company that develops therapeutic gems and jewelry, and Los Angeles-based designer Erica Courtney will each provide necklaces for celebrities participating in the 29th Annual People’s Choice Awards. The program, being hosted by Tony Danza, will be held at the Pasadena (Calif.) Civic Auditorium and televised live on CBS Sunday, Jan. 12 at 9 p.m. EST. Participants will include some of the top names in the film, television and music industries.

While waiting for rehearsals or their show appearance in a lavishly decorated environment backstage “Talent Retreat” (designed by Backstage Creations, Santa Monica, Calif.), presenters and performers will be thanked for their time and talent by being given the opportunity to select specific gifts they wish to receive from the product lines being offered by participating donor companies.

Meanwhile, celebrities attending and participating at this year’s “Sundance Film Festival” in Park City, Utah, Jan. 17-21, will have the opportunity to receive jewelry from Lois Hill, who is known for her handcrafted sterling silver jewelry inspired by ancient metalworking techniques.

Celebrities again have the opportunity to receive gifts at the Backstage Creations Talent Retreat in the Chrysler Lodge. Celebrities invited to the “shopping spree” include Kirsten Dunst, Billy Bob Thornton, Morgan Freeman, Dustin Hoffman, Edward Burns, Andy Garcia, Rachel Weisz, Macaulay Culkin, Seth Green, Lucy Liu, Dylan McDermott, Chloe Sevigny, William H Macy, Alec Baldwin, Maria Bello, Joey Fatone, and Estella Warren.
