Burglars Break Into Jewelry Store With Sledgehammers

Columbia, Md. On Jan. 21 suspects entered J & D Jewelers by breaking down a wall with sledgehammers. Once inside the store, the suspects used a pickaxe to smash display cases and steal jewelry.

Employee Shoots Suspect in Las Vegas Robbery

Las Vegas On Jan. 24 two suspects entered Huntington’s Jewelry and demanded cash. A store employee shot one of the armed men several times in the arm, and the suspect fired back. The suspect was admitted to the hospital, where police arrested him. He has been charged with attempted murder with a deadly weapon, robbery with a deadly weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, three counts of assault with a deadly weapon, and burglary while in possession of a firearm.

Six Suspects on the Loose in California

San Dimas, Calif. Police are on the lookout for five male suspects and one female accomplice who robbed San Dimas Jewelry Mart on Jan. 25. The five armed men forced store employees on the ground and proceeded to steal jewelry items from display cases.
