Fashion Alert, a company specializing in medical jewelry, has created stylish medical ID bracelets for Americans suffering from diabetes.
According to the American Diabetes Association, around 25.8 million children and adults in the United States suffer from either type 1 or type 2 diabetes.
The stainless steel bracelets—which retail between $15–$18 and are engraved with the wearer’s condition—will allow EMTs and other healthcare professionals to quickly identify the illness in an emergency.
“It’s extremely important for people with type 2 diabetes to be protected,” Denise Gaskill, co-owner of Fashion Alert, said in a statement. “Wearing a medical ID bracelet will help emergency responders treat people more effectively in an emergency.”
