JCK Las Vegas: Reed Exhibitions Unveils the New JCK Magazine and JCKonline.com

Reed Exhibitions unveils the
new and expanded JCK magazine this week at
JCK Las Vegas. Reed Expo, which acquired JCK from sister company
Reed Business Information, hired custom media firm TMG to publish the magazine,
e-newsletters, and Web site.

The first assignment was to refresh the look
and content of the magazine and online property while maintaining JCK’s independent,
authoritative voice. The result is a luxurious, large-format, 240-page June
issue. New and expanded sections offer business-focused, expert-driven content
organized by product categories, so every sector of the industry has a home in JCK and at JCKonline.com.

TMG, formerly The Magazine Group, tapped
renowned art director Robert Newman, former design director of Details, Real Simple,
and Fortune,
to redesign JCK
magazine. TMG also hired most of the existing JCK editorial and advertising staff and opened
offices at 400 Madison Ave. in New York.

JCK’s June issue boasts
120 advertising pages, a 48 percent increase over June 2009. The magazine, the
only paid subscription publication in the jewelry industry, will be published
10 times per year and will offer expanded online content. JCK, which stands for Jewelers’ Circular Keystone, has an audience of 25,000 jewelry retailers,
manufacturers, designers, and others.

JCKonline.com provides critical information,
breaking news, editorial and advertiser videos, and an interactive community for retailers to share ideas, insights,
challenges, and solutions. It’s the window into the global jewelry marketplace,
connecting buyers and sellers and spotlighting emerging trends and research.
JCK TV, launching at the Show, will be an integral part of the site.

“The launch of JCK magazine and JCK
Online demonstrates what’s possible today in magazine and online publishing,
particularly for a passionate industry with the No. 1 JCK Show behind the
initiative,” says Jane Ottenberg, president, TMG. “All things aligned—Reed
Exhibitions as great partners, a committed, talented team, and a great brand—to
make this relaunch a success.”

The magazine will be reveiled Saturday at 1 p.m. at Booth 46007.  Attendees will be able to meet JCK’s editors and publishers, as well as enjoy champagne and giveaways.
