Ivanka Trump Names New CEO

Longtime H.Stern staffer, Andrea Hansen, is named CEO of Ivanka Trump jewelry.
Ivanka Trump and Moshe Lax of Dynamic Diamond Corp, partners behind Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry, have named Andrea Hansen, formerly of H.Stern, as its new CEO. The hire fits the strategy of the nearly two-year-old Ivanka Trump jewelry brand, which aims to propel itself to luxury lifestyle status, since Hansen has more than 20 years of fine jewelry experience.

As CEO, Hansen will maximize the potential of the Ivanka Trump flagship boutique on Madison Avenue, expand the current jewelry collections, develop e-commerce sales, and, structure the company for global expansion through a strategic distribution network featuring wholesale units, franchising opportunities, and new stores.  The company’s long-term plans also include the addition of additional product categories such as handbags, accessories and fragrances.

Hansen started her career in 1985, when she took a summer job at H.Stern headquarters in her hometown of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 1993, Hansen moved to New York and was soon after appointed marketing director, North America. By 1995, Hansen was instrumental in helping to reposition the brand worldwide, and in 2003, she led the business support and marketing teams that implemented a new wholesale network, launching H.Stern in 20 new countries, and helped to develop a jewelry collection with Diane von Furstenberg. Hansen has a Master’s degree in advertising and marketing from ESPM, and a B.A. in journalism and communications from UERJ (both in Rio de Janeiro).
