Israel’s Exports, Imports Soar

Highlights of Israel Diamond Industry’s financial results
for the first three quarters of 2010 (January to September):

  • Exports and imports of polished and rough
    diamonds: up average of 70%
  • Net polished diamond exports: up 62.5% to reach
    $4.2 billion
  • Net rough diamond exports: up 80% to reach $2.3
    billion.
  • Net import of polished diamonds: up 84% from
    $1.5 billion.
  • Net import of rough diamonds: up 64% to reach
    $2.6 billion.
  • Net polished exports: U.S.: 40% of the total
    ($1.684 billion), Hong Kong 27% ($1.149 billion), Belgium 8% ($344 million), Switzerland
    4% ($176 million), India 4% ($164 million), Other countries 17%.
