Iman’s Golden Tribute to David Bowie

Necklace as memorial

Nameplate necklaces are common, but this one is uncommonly meaningful.

Supermodel Iman, wife of the late David Bowie, who died in January, made her first public appearance since his death last week at Tom Ford’s New York Fashion Week show.

She wore beautiful diamond hoop earrings and a simple gold necklace with “David” written in script.

“I’m wearing this until my death,” Iman told Good Morning America.

She said that Hedi Slimane, who left his job as creative director of Yves Saint Laurent in March, made the necklace for her.

Fashion blogs approve. “Design-wise, it’s the kind of necklace that is well-suited for any kind of outfit,” wrote New York Magazine. “But that’s no matter here—sentiment trumps simplicity.”
