The Gemological Institute of America Thailand’s 39th
Gemstone Gathering will focus on the efforts gemological laboratories are
making to protect gemstone buyers and sellers.

The event, to be held October 27 in Bangkok, will highlight
the work of the Laboratory Manual Harmonization Committee and its dedication to
the advancement of information sharing among the world’s leading laboratories.

The speakers
will discuss the history, formation and goals of LMHC, and explain the
nomenclature used in laboratory reports by its worldwide members.

GIA Thailand’s 39th Gemstone Gathering is a free event that
will begin at 6 p.m. in the Pacific Room 1-3 on the 21st floor of the Pan
Pacific Bangkok Hotel.
