Gemological Institute of America appointed Amit Dhamani and Thomas Insley to its board of governors during its May board meeting in Hong Kong.

Dhamani, CEO and managing director of Dhamani Jewels group, has extensive experience in the international jewelry business, specifically Europe, India, and the Middle East.

Insley, CFO of Intrepid Therapeutics, has many years of experience in management roles, previously serving as managing partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers.

“Our governors bring expertise from their diverse backgrounds,” Susan Jacques, GIA board chair, said in a statement. “Amit is a visionary jewelry retailer with a firm grounding in best business practices and Thomas has an exemplary record of leadership as an executive and board member of public companies and nonprofit institutions.”
