Collection Spotlight: Kesha Rose by Charles Albert

Ke$ha may attract some craziness (did you hear about her possessed body part?) in her life as a pop star, but she’s also got her share of accomplishments: a new album (Warrior), a second season of her own MTV docu-series, My Crazy Beautiful Life, and now a jewelry line.

The “Tik Tok” songstress teamed up with the 23-year-old, Pompano Beach, Fla.–based manufacturer to offer fans Kesha Rose by Charles Albert, a wearable taste of her irreverent lifestyle. (Think teeth, skulls, arrowheads, stars, and of course, more body parts.) Now available for wholesale purchase, along with the rest of the line, the pieces are made in Alchemía, Albert’s proprietary blend of base metals made to resemble karat gold, and feature the wide variety of gemstones and minerals—turquoise and drusy, among others—for which the jewelry maker is known. Suggested retail prices for the made-in-Mexico-pieces range from $15 to $450, with most selling for less than $100.

Albert told the press last year that Ke$ha has worn his pieces at the MTV VMAs, as well as other red carpet events, and called her style a natural fit for the brand. Meanwhile, the singer has long admired the brand’s “fun and massive” pieces that help her make wild statements.

“Going to the Charles Albert office was like a crazy playground for me—so many fun stones and colors and weird objects,” the singer dished to the media. “We just sat around and played with all of it for a few days and ended up with a sick collection of pieces in the end.”

The line—which features eight different collections—debuted to retailers in August, and to date, 20 U.S. accounts—including Gypsy Warrior in Ridgewood, N.J.—have picked up the line. Buy-in is $1,000.
