CFO, SVP of Merchandising Leave Samuels

Robert Herman and David Pillow are both moving on

Samuels Jewelers’ chief financial officer and senior vice president of merchandising have left the company, its CEO, Farhad K. Wadia, confirmed to JCK.

Chief financial officer Robert Herman, who has been with the company 19 years, and senior vice president of merchandising David Pillow, who joined last year, both resigned in the same week, though Wadia says the timing was coincidental.

“In Robert’s case, he got an extremely lucrative offer,” says Wadia. “We’d like to thank Robert for being an integral part of our business over so many years and for building strong teams that are now ready to carry his legacy forward seamlessly. He will, of course, be staying on until the end of this month to assist us in our transition.”

Pillow will be moving to an online jeweler based in Austin, Texas.

Samuels has opened six stores in the last year, in Florida, Texas, and California. More stores are in the pipeline for 2017.
