CIBJO president Gaetano Cavalieri and Eli Izhakoff, chairman of the World Diamond Council have been awarded honorary life memberships of the Israel Diamond Exchange. The awards were made during the Presidents Meeting of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses and the International Diamond Manufacturers Association that took place in Amsterdam, June 25-26.
In a short ceremony held during the opening session of the Presidents Meeting, IDE president Avi Paz presented Cavalieri and Izhakoff with a commemorative certificate as well as a IDE membership “smart-cards.”
A feature of Cavalieri’s presidency has been his ability to establish close ties between CIBJO and the diamond industry organizations. Izhakoff was appointed a CIBJO Honorary Life President at the CIBJO Congress in Vancouver, Canada, in 2006.
