Carolyn Rafaelian to Be Honored by Race to Erase MS

The Alex and Ani head has raised over $900,000 for the organization through a specially designed bangle.

Alex and Ani founder, CEO, and chief creative officer Carolyn Rafaelian will receive the Medal of Hope Award from Race to Erase MS at its annual gala on April 15 in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The Race to Erase MS Gala is in its 23rd year. Former recipients of the award include Tommy Hilfiger and Sharon Osbourne.

“[Rafaelian’s] company has been instrumental in accelerating our mission to find a cure for multiple sclerosis as well as providing inspiration and hope to so many with this disease,” said Nancy Davis, founder of Race to Erase MS. “She is an unsung hero to so many causes around the world as she continues to fund millions of dollars towards worthy missions. We are blessed to be one of them and thrilled to recognize her compassion for so many.”

Rafaelian created the Cupcake Charm Bangle as a way to raise funds for Race to Erase MS. Twenty percent of the $28 purchase price goes to the organization; $905,000 has been raised since the product debuted in 2012.
