Britt’s LUXURY 2017 Pick: Omi Privé’s Double Sapphire Ring

I think I might have been taking sapphires for granted, and for some time now. In the realm of favorite stones, they’re definitely up there—reliably gorgeous, ready to pair with anything, and utterly romantic (hence my engagement ring’s side stones). But while hunting for things that are decidedly different—not to mention nurturing my intense obsession with opals—I have let my appreciation (or at the very least, the time dedicated to that appreciation) for sapphires go by the wayside. This ring from Omi Privé made me realize that. It rekindled my love for sapphires, though that love was never really lost, just temporarily forgotten. When I saw this ring, I was blind to all others, even the opal ones. And Omi has some really, really good opals. This ring’s depth of color is endless. Its design is outstanding. The black rhodium detail makes the bluer-than-blue stones really pop; the tapered baguettes along the band anchor the piece in solid sparkle. And it felt so good on my hand—like those sapphires were giving my finger a big hug. As if to say, “We know you could never really forget about us.” And boy, are they right. I do love you, sapphire.
