Bev Hori to Head GIA Education



Bev Hori, G.G., assumed the role of vice president of education and chief learning officer for the Gemological Institute of America as of June 21.

Previously, Hori served with Seattle-based Ben Bridge Jeweler for nine years, most recently as vice president of education. She developed the Ben Bridge Knowledge Center and a learning management system with e-tools to train Ben Bridge sales associates in more than 70 stores in 12 states. She was also involved in corporate social responsibility and organizational development.

Hori has also worked with Jewelers of America and GIA.  She served on the board of directors for JA and the American Gem Society, and was past president of the Pacific Northwest Women’s Jewelry Association Chapter. She is also a member of the Standards Committee of the Responsible Jewellery Council.

Hori was named as one of JCK magazine’s “People of Influence,” and has received the WJA Award of Excellence in Special Services.
