Barry Zale joins Heritage Auction Galleries

Heritage Auction Galleries, Dallas, named Barry Zale as a consignment director for its Fine Jewelry and Timepieces division.

From 1974 to 1986, Zale worked at Zale Corp., the world’s largest retail jeweler. During this time, he lived and worked in 24 states and 14 countries, holding various positions including store manager, regional vice president of store operations, and president of manufacturing and inventory control systems in the corporation’s New York offices.

From 1988 to 1995, Zale served as president of Capitol Entertainment, a Blockbuster Video franchisee for the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. During that time, Capitol Entertainment grew from a single store to over 100 stores, becoming the largest domestic franchise in the Blockbuster Video system.

Zale was also the owner of Barry Zale Fine Jewelry, a guild level jewelry and giftware store located in Dallas Texas from 1995 to 2003.

From 2003 to 2006, Zale was president and chief executive officer of Las Vegas Tan, a franchisee of Palm Beach Tan.

His civic associations include service on the Board of Reeds Jewelers, a publicly traded corporation; Golden Acres, a Jewish Family Service of Dallas; the Marine Military Academy; and Zale Foundations.

Zaleis a graduate of the Marine Military Academy. He attended the University of Texas in Austin, with further studies at St. Edwards University.

Zale and his wife, Cindy, reside in Dallas, Texas and are the parents of Ben, Molly, Matthew, Betsy, Jourdan, and Taylor.
