At Your Service: How Does Your Store Decor Entice Customers to Shop?

Every week we ask retailers how they handle client requests, questions, and conundrums. This week we put the spotlight on the opposite side of the counter, asking retailers: “In what ways does your store decor entice customers to shop?”

“The store is bright and well lit. We have an open glass display for the Lladros and overhead lights for the jewelry that help show their brilliance. Our staff is always situated in a place to welcome the customers and see how we can help them.” —Marsha Chasinov, manager, Ballew Jewelers, Sea Girt, N.J.

“We are pretty well-known for our big windows with all the china patterns in all the window displays.” —Aaron Stevens, owner, Stevens Jewelers, East Liverpool, Ohio

“We repainted the whole inside of the store from a white to a light blue. It makes it a little more warm and inviting. Customers say it makes them feel more comfortable.” —Andrew Castiglione, owner, Castiglione Jewelers, Gloversville, N.Y.

“The bridal collection is in the front. The collection is in lower cases that allow people to sit down. It encourages customers to stay longer!” —Kimberly Morey, manager, Bowen Jewelry Company, Lynchburg, Va.
