Armed Robber Walks Away With $400K Worth of Jewels

Police are investigating a heist at an Ellenton, Fla., jewelry store on Nov. 16 that landed the thief $400,000 worth of jewelry.

A male suspect entered Ultra Diamonds around 8:30
p.m. with an automatic handgun, say police. Customers dropped to the ground as the suspect
approached a display case. He then pointed the gun at the
manager and demanded that she empty the case into his bag. No one
was injured.

The suspect walked out of the front door and was last seen
heading east of the store’s parking lot. Police and canine units surveyed the
area but did not find the man.

Manatee County Sheriff’s Office public information officer Dave Bristow told JCK that police have leads in the case but no arrests have
been made.

Ultra Diamonds declined to comment.
