Alrosa, KGK Group Announce Plans for New Diamond-Cutting Plant

The factory will be in Vladivostok, Russia

Alrosa and KGK Group have signed agreement to create a diamond-cutting and polishing factory in Vladivostok, Russia, which is located on the southeast tip of the country, near the Sea of Japan.

The statement was signed at the Second Eastern Economic Forum, which took place in Vladivostok Sept. 2–3.

KGK Group will set up the factory with financial assistance from Alrosa.

The companies intend to open the factory in July 2017 with 150 employees and plan to eventually increase employment to 500. 

Within four years, the plant will be able to manufacture 15,000 cts. of natural diamonds annually.
