Sotheby’s will host the first two sessions of its Magnificent Jewels and Noble Jewels sale in Geneva, Switzerland tomorrow, May 16.
Among the many high-priced lots are enameled bracelets and stunning decorative boxes by Jean Schlumberger, gem-studded watches from Chopard and Graff, and a series of gorgeous late-19th-century pieces.
Here are five of our favorite big-ticket pieces from the sale:
Cabochon-cut emeralds mingle with circular-cut diamonds, alternating with links of floral design set with cushion- and rose-cut diamonds, in this incredible necklace. The mid-section detaches to make a pendant.
Enamel and gold bracelet, Schlumberger, 1960s, estimate: $12,694–$18,787
Decorated with blue paillonné enamel and gold motifs, this signed piece is one of three nearly identical Schlumberger bracelets in the sale.
This signed piece features a circular dial with baton indicators, and is pavé-set with brilliant-cut diamonds and calibré-cut rubies.
Set with a 22.69 ct. cushion-shaped sapphire, this ring is flanked with marquise-cut diamonds and bears the W.A. Bolin maker’s mark.
Jadeite and pink sapphire bracelet, Georges Fouquet, circa 1930, estimate: $30,466–$50,777 (Also at top)
Composed of two octagonal plaques of bombé design, one set with polished jadeite cabochons, alternating with links set with oval and cushion-shaped pink sapphires, this unusual bracelet is signed and numbered.
