Modern brides aren’t shy about telling their fiancés what they want in an engagement ring.

According to The Knot’s most recent Market Intelligence Report, 37 percent of brides told their guys “outright what they wanted.” A whopping 50 percent of brides pointed out styles they liked while shopping with their sweeties.

Twelve percent of future wives left pictures of ring styles propped up in obvious places around the house (hint, hint), while 9 percent enlisted the help of friends or family members to guide their guy to styles they love.
