2017 Golden Globes: Jewelry Inspired by Emma Stone’s Star-Spangled Valentino

“It’s pink and there’s stars on it.” That’s what Emma Stone said to Ryan Seacrest when asked about the custom Valentino haute couture gown she wore to Sunday’s Golden Globes awards ceremony.

And when she accepted the award for best actress in a musical or comedy, it was all very meta: Glistening with a galaxy of Swarovski crystal star appliqués, the ethereal rose quartz chiffon design was indeed tailor-made for a star, especially one being honored for her role in La La Land. The film is itself a love letter to Old Hollywood and was the night’s big winner, racking up seven awards in total (including best original song, for the aptly named “City of Stars”).

With help from stylist Petra Flannery, Stone amped up the vintage glamour vibe with Tiffany & Co. statement jewels from the house’s archives. The whole look was pure whimsy and joie de vivre, enough to make you swoon, which might be why I’m suddenly seeing stars everywhere. Not the kind that walk the red carpet, but those of the “twinkle twinkle” variety, from Oscar Heyman’s platinum starburst studs to Stefere’s otherworldly étoiles
