She’s done it again. For the third year in a row, JCK senior editor Jennifer Heebner has released her much-anticipated and eerily accurate list of jewelry trends for the year. Twelve looks for the year of 2014, everything from specific gemstones to bold colors and styles, can be found here. And for the second year in a row, I’ll be joining her in sharing with you our favorite pieces to go along with each of the 12 trends. So if you haven’t already, check out Jen’s 12 Jewelry Trends for 2014: The Third Annual List of What to Buy, Sell, and Stock in the Year Ahead, and join us as we take this fashionable journey of jewelry!
Jewelry Trend No. 1: Abalone. What with our craze for opal and moonstone in 2013, it’s no surprise that our eyes—and wallets—are gravitating toward abalone this year. The thick inner layer of this sea creature’s shell typically comprises mother-of-pearl, radiating color in iridescent fashion, which makes it so desirable to us. Most abalone jewels exhibit a bluish-green color, but you’ll see other rainbow shades in there, too. The decoration is mesmerizing, mystical, and—bonus—quite affordable, in most cases. Here are five of my favorites for your store. Be sure to click each image for more information and get them into your showcases!
