Britt’s Pick: Ayva Jewelry’s Kela Necklace

Triple the fun

Let’s start 2017 off in the best way possible: with a great jewel by a tremendous jewelry designer. Ayva Jewelry was a 2016 discovery for me (designer Priyanka Kedia was featured as a JCK Rising Star in Las Vegas last year), and, as ever, I have since been smitten. I love her use of colored stones, her play with shapes, and her take on fun—but supremely elegant—designs. The styles are youthful but classic beauties—a reflection of the designer behind them. This new necklace, dubbed Kela, takes one of Kedia’s signature designs—square gemstones adorned with a fanlike layout of tapered baguettes—and makes it three, dangling them from a simple chain to make for an elegant, but everyday, look. The aquamarine and diamond combination is effective on its own, but as a trio, it’s spellbinding. Imagine this necklace paired with a low-cut top, or even a simple scooped tee? That’s a gimme.
