Britt’s Pick: Ayva’s Kalei Cigar Bands

The slip-on-and-go piece of glamour

A two-for-one special here with this week’s Britt’s Pick, I couldn’t include just one cigar band from Ayva Jewelry. Though I personally find myself more drawn to the version glimmering with white sapphire pears and rich pops of tsavorite, I think the feminine combination of tanzanite and pink sapphire is a sensation to rival it (or even better, to pair with it). I love the layout of the stones, the way they appear to be elegantly tossed together, how each trio of diamonds sits at a slightly different angle from the next.

A wide band is the jewelry equivalent to the little black dress: easy to slip on and not requiring much else to make it stand out. It’s effortless, versatile, and always, always, the way to go. I enjoyed a few moments with these at JCK Las Vegas this year (pictured), and three months later, they still stand out among my favorites. I still can’t stop thinking about that version with the green, though. Give me that opulence, silky yellow gold, rich gem-tone detail for fall, winter, and into 2017—I don’t think it would ever leave my hand.
