Animal prints are a favorite on fashion runways and is a look that Rebecca Myers is adopting for her jewelry line.
Enter Cheetah, a new line that the Baltimore-based designer showed at JCK Las Vegas this year. Some 12 SKUs exist in silver, palladium, and 18k gold with diamonds—with colored diamonds of particular interest because of the “stones we focus on to complete the animal print pattern,” Myers tells JCK. “Everything works with animal print! The designs are also a clear extension of our overall aesthetic of natural forms, textures, and prints.”
The idea for Cheetah was also born from one of the artist’s favorite reads, Gods and Kings: The Rise and Fall of Alexander McQueen and John Galliano. The book by Dana Thomas details the deals that turned the designers’ “raw artistic vision into fashion empires,” Myers explained to her own blog readers recently. “Reading this book took me back to my days at [Temple University’s] Tyler art school and the years of struggle and experimentation that ensued to start my own jewelry business.”
Suggested retail prices for Cheetah start at $975, buy-in is five pieces, and items are ready to ship upon order.
